The Placencia Lagoon

The Placencia Lagoon is a component of the Southern Belize reef system and is a beautiful saltwater estuary full of marine life, flora and birds.  It is mostly shallow, 1-2 meters deep, which makes it a fruitful breeding ground for many types of fish.  Most fisherfolk come to catch Tarpon for the sport or snook for yummy eating.   You can also see bottlenose or Atlantic spotted dolphins playing in the Lagoon.  Manatee sightings occur daily.  Our attentive guides can share the history and answer questions about the lagoon.  Whether you are looking for a peaceful sunset cruise or seeking some adrenaline, fighting some epic fish from a kayak, schedule your private tour or fishing experience with Lagoon Lookout Kayaks.
